80_pan – Tracks from new album

Tag: MusicInsaneLampshade @ 12:51pm

Disco Baby

Was meant to post this before Eurovision… meh… forgot, lol. Clips from 4 of the tracks from their new album are on their newly opened myspace account (ugh yes, myspace… must have been a suggestion from one of those UK guys producing for them).

Not sure entirely what to think, lol… the two produced by shitdisco aren’t great (too much emphasis on the music, not enough on the vocals), the other two are somewhat better, WAVE WAVE sounds reasonably good, still rather different to their previous music though.

Only seven tracks by the looks of things, albums need more than seven tracks. :( Oh well, hopefully they’ll sell more than 1000 copies this time, lol (and maybe they’ll come do some sort of pub tour of the UK… that’d be amusing).

Yet again i fail at predicting a Eurovision winner…

Russia won, definitely shouldn’t have.

Sweden should have won. Latvia were good, Armenia were good, Greece female was *ultra* cute, Russia sucked.

However the “party” i said would happen did… i count 8 people here in the house, lol.

Anyway… back to drinking beer since i’m now down £10 and the night is still young. Damn Russia.

A vague attempt at writing

Tag: MiscInsaneLampshade @ 1:24am

Writing, me? …yeah, this isn’t gonna go so well, lol.

What started out with me giving my four units amusing names in a game of Battletech, and their utterly entertaining defeats, gradually turned into “i bet that’d be a great story following these pilots around”, and then finally turning into “you know what, maybe i will write that story”.

Well yeah, so that’s that, and this is chapter one, god knows where this is going, or how it’s gonna turn out (well that all depends on any future games of Battletech they play), but i wouldn’t hope for any high quality writing. In fact, expecting low quality writing is probably a bit optimistic as the last time i attempted to write any sort of story was probably at some point when i was 14 during an English class. No doubt it barely reached 400 words or was worthy of any sort of grade above fail.

Anyway, click the more button below to read the untitled adventures of Quinn, Mimi, Koharu, and Li, mech pilots in training, vaguely set in the Battletech universe.

(Note that 3/4 of the pilots have had their names changed from my original battletech team that sparked the idea, since they were all originally based on actual people. Well, i say ‘based’, it was more a sort of artistic interpretation of what these people are like in my head… especially since one of them was based on someone that works in a take-away down the road that i’ve only seen twice, lol.)

Radio has died

Tag: MiscInsaneLampshade @ 13:29pm

There is now absolutely nothing worth listening to on the radio:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7385370.stm

Jame’s Whale’s call in show on talksport (note: his show generally had nothing to do with sport) has been the only decent thing on radio in this country in at least the last decade (because we all know there’s no point listening to the complete shite they call music here). He always spoke his mind, and his mind often came out with some of the most rational stuff anyone in this country says, and that’s not even mentioning the prank callers and the arguements with callers being pretty damn entertaining. To be sacked for such a trivial thing is utterly absurd. I hope talksport note the huge drop in listener ratings at night, and i hope his show gets picked up by another station soon.

In summary… get bent talksport.
