Finally after months of the old, very old monitor gradually dying (bottom of screen making funny shapes and flickering, lol, turning it of and on again temporarily fixes it), the new one finally arrived! A multipurpose screen for PC use, anime watching, console gaming, and TV (lol, not that i ever watch TV, total junk, nothing worthwhile watching, hasn’t been since the 90′s)…

All i can say is that everything is so very pretty, lol. It really feels odd having a somewhat larger screen resolution to play with after being stuck with some 15 inch monitor for years. But yes, everything’s so pretty, games, anime, even my desktop background, everything, lol. (Sidenote: Dear god why is my desk so tidy and devoid of life?! I think some figures shall need to be moved there. )

Also, while i’m talking about screens, i was setting up the sound on it… why must everything have incredibly horrible bass settings, lol… do not want your crappy bass boost, i’m quite happy with the house not vibrating to death every time i’m watching something thank you very much. Not only that, but having so much bass drowns out the more subtle sounds of certain types of music (of which i seem to have a lot, lol). >_> Am i the only one that finds myself reducing the amount of bass on all of my equipment? lol… bass down… treble up… perfect!

In other news… following on from the fail mmorpg that was Dufus below, a decent mmorpg is now available to play in open beta!

First impressions of this game are great, kinda makes me feel nostalgic about when the Ragnarok Online beta opened for the first time, thousands of people in the newbie areas, all crowded around the towns selling things. Exact same thing happening in this game at the moment. Heck, i even briefly saw one of my old guildmates from Ragnarok… haven’t heard from him in years, lol.

Other than the nostalgia of the game feeling a little like RO, it’s really quite fun, simple gameplay (which is good… too many games overcomplicate things these days), and above all else, it’s INCREDIBLY PRETTY (uhh… been using that word too much today…. lalala but everything *is* so pretty… *surrounds himself with prettyness* …all i need now is my carpet to turn into a bed of flowers and butterflies to flutter around the house, lol)!! No really, i’m quite impressed at how utterly crappy they are. The company as a whole seems to be worse than Codemasters at running online games (and that’s really quite an achievement to be that bad).

What’s the time when most people are playing online games… of course… the weekend. Well, the lazy people at Dofus (what a great name, it shall be known as Dufus now) don’t have anyone at all working at weekends. Absolutely no-one. Really quite impressive. Server dies on a friday night, no game for you for the whole weekend.

Oh, i guess i haven’t actually mentioned why the game itself is bad yet… complete lack of any instructions on the site, or any tutorial in-game, an hour yesterday was spent attacking enemies with a fishing rod since there doesn’t seem to be any shops to buy or sell *anything* on the newbie area, not to mention that it seems to be full of desperate kids… “anyone wanna be my gf??????????????????”…… right. o.O

They want you to pay money and subscribe, but there are seemingly no advantages whatsoever if you do (great way to steal money from stupid people i’ll give them that, lol).

Congratulations Dufus for being a worse online game than anything Codemasters have run, you guys deserve a trophy:
