Right, well i’m about to head out to go to the airport, after spending the past month in an extremely hyperactive mood it’s finally arrived! ^____^
What i’m leaving behind:
London:

(cold, rain, flooding, dam’s collapsing, houses washed away etc.)
What i shall be arriving to:
Phoenix:

(we’ll only be there a few hours while we wait for the flight to long beach, but damn that’s hot)
Los Angeles:

I shall be sure to take many photo’s, and make a full report when i return (sadly i think we will be too busy for any on the road updates, …that and the hotel has no internet and we won’t have a laptop, lol).
So see y’all sometime next week (or at Anime Expo itself)!
Oh, also… i noticed Haruko Momoi’s recent blog post made mention of Anime Expo… yay!
I feel this deserves it’s own post…

…Haruko Momoi’s cover song album is SO DAMN GOOD!! After only listening to it for a day or so, it’s instantly my favourite album of hers… almost teary eyed when listening to it it’s that good, lol.
EVERY SINGLE TRACK is impressively excellent, and that’s rare for me to say that about an album. Quite frankly it puts 80★PAN’s recent 8 track “album” to shame where i considered all of the tracks to be meerly average or less (and at least 1 track was utter rubbish).
Anyway yes, for those that don’t own the album, go listen to samples on the numbered thingy here:
http://www.avexmovie.jp/lineup/momo-i/
Tracklist:
01. Yume no Naka e
02. Shin.Com Ko Chan no Theme
03. Yume Boken
04. The Goonies ‘R’ Good Enough
05. Miraikei Idol
06. TOUGH BOY
07. Koi wa Question
08. Yuzurenai Negai
09. GOD KNOWS
10. VIDEO KILLED THE RADIO STAR
Ahh… Kare Kano ending, The Goonies song (yes, the film The Goonies), Haruhi, Video Killed the Radio Star, so many good covers!
/me wants more
Wow, at last, lol, how many years has it been since the last volume was released?

I guess i can stop bothering the ADV guys at conventions with questions about their non-existant manga department now, lol. ^^;
Yosh! Sa-sa-sa-sa-sa-sa-saku-se-se-se-se-sen kai!!

I don’t often watch J-Drama, but whenever i do it always seems to hold my interest (maybe i should watch more?). After a few months of slowly getting through the series i finally finished watching Akihabara@DEEP yesterday.
What a hilarious show… the basic premise is that this group of misfits have been brought together in Akihabara to form some sort of help group for everyone in the area. Helping people with everything from stalkers, to cosplay peep shows, to surviving a zombie infestation. They themselves describe it during the opening as an “Akihabara action adventure story”, add a good dose of comedy to that and i guess that sums it up well.
What i liked most about it was that they can clearly get away with stuff on Japanese TV that would be considered far too “politically incorrect” over here. e.g. Akihabara is being targeted by a gang of bullies, your friends are being beaten up, you run off to the local dodgy market stall (which is being run by a foreign guy speaking Japanese, with Japanese subtitles underneath just in-case you can’t understand him), what do you buy……. yes what else would you buy from a dodgy foreign market stall… craploads of explosives and other weapons! Also, gotta love the Densha Otoko ripping (quite literally, lol): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FgkbIdm_aAc <<funny because it’s probably true, lol.
And man Izumu in this is far too cute, lol. Messy haired computer geek ftw!

I seem to enjoy these over the top comedies, anyone know any more Akihabara based JDrama’s that i should be watching? Seen so far: Densha Otoko, Maid in Akihabara, Akihabara@DEEP.
Right… now to find a shop that imports umaibo. o.o
Even though it clearly is using a load of overused jokes (Oh noes i slipped and fell… nosebleeds! Oh noes i’ve walked into a bath full of women again… nosebleeds!), there’s just something about it that feels so fresh and funny.
Possibly cramming so many overused jokes into one show pushes it beyond a barrier and into extreme funnyness?
Possibly the high quality animation and facial reactions all of the characters have? (i don’t actually like the manga artwork that much for this, but the anime creators have achieved something wonderful!)

Possibly Machi-nee and her cute yet deadly nature?

Possibly the huge amount of supersized vegetables (that often look… well… uhh…), and supersized talking animals?

Well, whatever it is that makes it so good, it’s certainly the show that’s held most of my interest and anticipation for the next episode this season.
And after the last episode i couldn’t resist making a new sig/avatar for it. Glassy eyes = too cute!
