Gallery section and visitor stats
You may have noticed the new bits over to the left. Well, those two picture galleries didn’t really have a proper place before, and since they were the two parts of my site pulling the most visitors (roughly 1500 visits in the last month!), i thought they should at least look respectable, and be connected to my site.
You did hear me right, i did say 1500 visitors to the two “gallery” sections in the last month. Hits to this website have really shot up in the last three months, they’re now almost triple what they previously were. I do have to admit though, that 80% of those visitors never actually came to the front page, they were just looking at one of my holiday photos or ayacon photos that they’d found from a Google image search (e.g. search for “japanese currency” on google images, the first two pictures link to my site). I’m doing close to 1GB of data transferred per month.

Even though all these visitors are great, none of them ever post anything on the tagboard
, which is why, hopefully, in the not too distant future (before the site’s 2 year anniversary) i will have a new comment system in place, so that instead of having the tagboard, i’ll have it so people can leave comments on images, or on news posts, or anything else on the site, like a proper blog! But i’m not gonna go for a crappy CMS like PHPNuke again, because that sucked, i want something much more simple.
I would just like to re-iterate that my site is fully XHTML 1.0 Transitional and CSS compliant, which means it works well in all web browsers (Yes, even Links!!! I’m quite proud that my site works in Links actually!). So remember kids, web standards are always a good thing!
